Premium student accommodation in Adelaide suburbs are in high demand from investors, as international students are bucking the CBD living trend.

In recent times, Adelaide has seen a rise in premium accommodation for international students looking for a taste of the Adelaide lifestyle in the suburbs. Close to transport hubs, parks, major shopping centres and the coast, investors are noticing a new lifestyle trend amongst students.

Adelaide is an appealing city to study abroad, from the low cost of living to producing the most Nobel Prize winners than other state in Australia. The last major survey by Education Adelaide showed that more than 28,100 international students studied at one of Adelaide’s three world class universities. With the number of international students studying in Adelaide expected to continue in the coming years, demand for quality fully furnished accommodation will be at an all-time high.

Dean Tripodi from Professionals Tripodi & Associates whose agency manages one of the largest private student accommodation portfolios in the south-western suburbs has noticed an increase in investors seeking this type of property. “The investors are attracted to the impressive depreciation schedule on these recently constructed properties, combined with the premium rent paid by international students who are seeking modern convenient locations close to universities and transport”, Dean stated.

Increased interest from investors on a current property being marketed by his agency at Diagonal Way, Oaklands Park has confirmed that this trend of investors looking to invest in premium student accommodation outside the CBD is gaining momentum.
